Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in our lives, by paying attention to the present moment, non-judgementally. This can help us see things differently, and to move towards greater levels of health and well-being. It is an approach that is also increasingly being seen as valuable for a wide range of people with mental health and physical health difficulties, with evidence supporting its use with people experiencing problems such as anxiety, stress, binge eating disorder, chronic pain and psoriasis. This workshop will provide opportunities to experience different aspects of mindfulness mediation practice, as well as an introduction to both theory and research evidence. There will also be the chance to discuss the relevance of mindfulness to different client groups.
